Easter is quickly approaching and I cannot stop thinking about my love for this specific “holy day.” While our culture has created Easter to be a family fun holiday where baskets are filled and children hunt for eggs. As Christ followers we must remember the true meaning of Easter.
Easter is the Christian remembrance of Christ’s death, and three days later, his rising from the tomb. This holiday brings meaning to our existence, and is the center of our Christian belief. On this day Jesus Christ made us a promise, to whomever believed in him, shall live forever!
Jesus gave each of us a meaning, he gave each of us a reason to carry on. On this special day he not only loved us in ways that we will never truly understand, because it is so beautiful, but he proved it to us. He gave up his life on earth for you and for me. So we can live without fear, and we can live knowing that we are loved beyond measure!
Read and remember the beauty of the Easter story. Think about it continuously to regenerate your hope in life. Jesus gave everything for us, it is now up to us to trust in him, let him do the rest!
Have fun with your families! Enjoy the baskets and egg hunts while your children are still small. My preference is to make sure my children know the religious meaning behind holidays. We talk about religious holidays constantly, so when the holiday actually comes they understand the true meaning. Only then can we enjoy the other fun stuff! Below I have posted some fun activities to help your children understand the meaning of this special holiday.
