Do you ever feel like your heart and mind are a cluttered mess? Do you feel like the next life mishap might turn into a mental breakdown? This is your heart and mind sending you a message to clear some space.
Just like your home, things need to be cleared out. Think about all the clutter that builds up year after year in your home. If you don’t make the time to purge through items that are no longer needed, they build up and become a burden. This is the same with your mind and your heart.
Make time to forgive, forget and let negative thoughts go. Do not let them weigh you down anymore!
Here are six tips that will help you clear your mind, heart, and home. There is no better day to begin than today!
1.Let things go: Holding on to worry, anger, anxiety, fear and low self-esteem are like carrying bricks on your shoulders. These burdens keep a strong hold on your heart and mind. You can only carry them around so long until they physically and mentally exhaust you. Let go of things you cannot change, being fearful and worrying does not change anything. Letting things go and living life to its fullest…that my friends will change everything!
2.Change your mindset: Negativity expands like a wildfire. If you let negative thoughts creep in your mind, in no time those negative thoughts will take over. I understand how hard it is to find positive thoughts in the day-to-day, you go to work, get on social media, go to the grocery store and all you see and hear are negative. It is so easy to get sucked right into it. If every time a negative thought comes in your mind, you change it to something positive. I promise it will become easier to let negativity go altogether. This will result in less gossip, less hurt and less anger.
3.Keep a journal: The best way to manage whatever it might be that you are holding onto, and negative thoughts you feel are to keep a journal. In your journal you can leave all your worst fears, you can write out your negative thoughts, anything that is bothering you from that day should go into the journal. Getting it out is necessary, and there is no better way to do it than to write it all down, rip it up, toss it in the trash. Let it go and move on!
4.Workout: Fitness is an excellent way to reset your mind. Not only does your body release positive endorphins while working out, it also gives you time for yourself and helps raise your self-esteem. Find a fitness program you love and stick with it.
5.Clear your home: Decluttering your home can have a huge impact on your well-being. Clutter can cause anxiety which also adds clutter to your heart and mind. Being organized and having a “if it doesn’t have a place it needs to find a new home” mindset can help you depart with unneeded things.
6.Let go of perfectionism: Being a perfectionist is exhausting to your heart and mind. “Perfect” will never exist in you or in me. You must understand that perfection is not expected of you. Forgiving yourself of your past and present mistakes will set you free!
Life, people and social media makes us feel like we must live up to unrealistic expectations. Don’t fall into it. You are perfect how you are right now no matter how messy life might seem.
Stop being so hard on yourself, love yourself today! Not after you reach a certain goal…TODAY!
