The minute I saw the yoga trapeze, I knew this was something I had to add to my fitness routine. The yoga trapeze allows you to combine dance, yoga poses, pilates, aerial yoga, and meditation with the use of one piece of equipment.
Here are a few of the benefits I have discovered with regular use of the yoga trapeze:
Relieves back problems:
Hanging freely helps relieve the pressure on your spinal cord allowing your spine to lengthen. It also allows you to exercise with less strain on your back.
Improves your mental health:
As with any workout, aerial yoga releases “happy” hormones like serotonin, endorphins, oxytocin, dopamine, which boost your mood and help you feel more energetic. Also, using the hammock feature as a meditation seat helps to rebuild your emotional state by helping you control your stress levels.
Holding poses right side up, upside down, or sideways (however you choose to use your yoga trapeze). You are building the strength of your core, as well as your total body with every move. The special thing about the trapeze, is that you have so much fun you forget you are working out.
Every type of yoga is going to improve your flexibility. Aerial yoga is no different. Where the trapeze leaves you free range, you have more freedom to stretch further with no restrictions.
If you truly get into yoga practice, you might start venturing into inversions. The trapeze is a great way to begin inversion practice. It allows you to gain the strength and balance you need to invert safely.
The movements and stretches the trapeze allows you to do without restriction helps improve your digestive health, helping various amounts of digestion issues such as constipation and indigestion.
