We recently returned from a wonderful family vacation to Florida. As a family, we have found it very important to have a vacation every year. Our yearly vacations typically consist of the sound of ocean waves and sand in our toes. This is what our family finds most appealing, but obtaining the benefits of a family vacation can be achieved anywhere.

Even though a family vacation can be sad to come back from, it is well worth it! The benefits you and your children gain from a family vacation is worth the feeling of sadness you get when returning to normal life.

Why family vacations are beneficial:
Improves Mental and Physical Health:
Everyone needs rest and relaxation from time to time, even children. Taking the time to get away from the stress of life is essential for you and your children.
Relaxation improves our ability to cope with stress, and helps to improve our quality of sleep. It is very important that we practice both rest and relaxation in order to strengthen our mental and physical health.
Improves mood:
Vacations teach you how to be happy. On vacation you can be whom ever you want to be. You don’t have to keep up the “status” you have created for yourself in your hometown or work world. You can let yourself (and your makeup) go, relax, “crazy” play, “ugly” laugh, and leave your schedule behind. This is a great way for everyone in the family experience life in a new way. While finding themselves as individuals and as a family, and hopefully bring that relaxed and confident version of yourselves home.
Explore new interests:
When the electronic devices are taken away, from children (and adults) there is a world of adventure out there. Experiences that can only be found through the adventures of vacations. Whether is be a new food, the highest roller coaster, camping in the woods, or exploring the creatures of the sea. These new adventures are nothing you can learn from a book or smart phone. When we explore the world, we also explore ourselves.
